Dubai Waterpark

Wild Wadi Waterpark Dubai

This Dubai Waterpark belongs to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel but you can buy a day ticket to access it. The park has many area and is suitable for both young children, teens and adults. If you are into surfing there is an excellent area called wipeout and riptide which send out massive waves into which you can surf. There are only 4 rides like this worldwide.

Wipeout & Riptide

Breakers Bay is another wave pool which sends out 1.5 metre waves which you can swim into. I like standing for the wave to arrive, and then get washed off my meet as it hits me. It feels like you are doing somersaults in the water!

Breaker's Bay

Flood river allows you to ride a rubber ring around a mekebelieve river. The only snag is, every so often they send a massive tide of extra water and you have to cling on tight and ride the waves. It is great fun!

Flood River

Juhas journey is much more relaxed. You simply ride on a ring around a lazy river and relax.Juhas Dow And Lagoon is for the smaller kids. It is a large pool with many water slides running into it. Be careful though, here is a massive buckets which empties and covers everybody nearby with water.

Tantrum Alley is a great water ride. Up to 4 people can share a tube and you are thrown all over the place as you are thrown through 2 tornadoes and pass through the eye of the storm.

Master Blasters is like a water based roller coaster. You can be blasted up to 15 storeys high before commencing the journey around the ride on your tube.

Buraj Surf is one of my favourite rides. You go flying down a really steep slide in a tube, get thrown around two twisting spiralling twists before you are dropped into a second slide and dumped into the pool.

The Jumeirah Sceirah is the ride I was too scared to go on. You climb up a 32 m tower, And then have to stand inan enclosed capsule. You are in the dark and then the bottom of the capsule open and you are in free fall, dropping 120m at 80km/hour. Maybe I will try this when I’m a little older!

Top Tips

The water park gets very busy, especially at weekends.Try to visit mid week and get there at opening time 1000. Plane which rides you want to go on and get to those 1st before the queues get too big.

Kids, you need to wear a hat or cap. There is not a lot of shade and it gets really hot in here.

Places To Visit In Dubai

Alantisthepalm

Atlantis The Palm

This is a great child friendly hotel situated on the Palm in Dubai.

There are so many things to do for kids here.

Dubai waterpark

The big attraction for me was the attached Aquaadventure Water Park. This has free entry for all hotel guests. It is also a large attraction for other tourists so it is best to get up early when the watter park is quiet. The park has lots of slides and lazy rivers. One of the slides takes you through a clear tube into a pool full of sharks (don’t worry, they cant get to you)
There is also Dolphin Bay here where you can swim with the dolphins.

If you are not staying at The Atlantis you can still come and buy a day pass for the Waterpark by clicking here.

Lost Chambers Dubai

The hotel has a massive aquarium called The Lost Chambers. When you walk into the hotel you will see the massive Aquarium which has all kinds of fish and sharks. Some hotel rooms even look into the Aquarium, rather than have windows so you can wake up in the morning eye to eye with a shark.

Beaches

The are two massive pools, and a large beach. Here’s a hint for you. We went in October and although the sea looked shallow and warm, there were lots of Jellyfish and I saw 3 people get stung. If I were you I would stay on the beach. Im not sure if the jellyfish are around all year or not!

There are lots of shops in the hotel, I prefered the ones in Aquaadventure as they sold more toys and things for kids.

Exciting things to do

There are lots of activities for kids to try out in Dubai. Some of my favourites are the Desert Safari’s, Ferrari World Theme Park in Abu Dhabi and sledging in Ski Dubai (yes there is snow in Dubai!). A list of excursions can be found by clicking here

Kid Clubs

The hotel has the following for kids

A kids club for up to 12 year olds

A command center with Xbox, Playstations and Apple Computers

A play zone with climbing walls

A creation zone for making things (such as cookies)

An underwater theatre where you can view the aquarium.

There are also area’s where 13-18 year old’s can hang out including life like bars and disco’s (obviously no alcohol), theatre, internet cafe and games zone with various game consoles and Apple Pc’s.

Don’t miss the Coldstone ice cream parlour, where you pick the ingrediants before they make you the desert from heaven!

The hotel is situated on the Palm which is fairly isolated from the rest of the city. Taxis are not expensive and once in the City (about a 10 minute journey to Dubai Marina) there are many excursions to go on and attractions to see.
